'Vacation' means something different to everyone.  To 'vacate' one's daily life can be an experience, an adventure, immersing yourself in a different culture, or even spending time & focus on things that don't generally fit into your habitual daily grind.  A hobby maybe, building a new website for your part-time gig, spending time in your kitchen trying out some new recipes.  Whatever it is for you, a vacation becomes time that soothes the soul in some way.
This trio was commissioned to represent some special memories of the landscape and natural surroundings of Hawaii.  I was given some reference photos that had been taken over their time spent there.  The views were spectacular; add in some of mother nature's brilliant color combinations, and voila, instant sparkle.
