Hello there, I'm Anne Luciow
When you are in your 20's , having fully unleashed yourself from childhood, & kicked the gear into <drive>, life feels like a great big book of possibilities.
Surrounded by family & a tight-knit group of friends, I travelled through grief with the loss of someone very close to me in my early 20's & came through on the other side with a perspective on life that I likely wouldn't have had so early otherwise.
To me, an artist has the ability to influence how individuals perceive & interpret the world around them. Making the artwork a form of reality made visible.
Whether through a visual medium, musical talent, or sculpture, etc., the merging of the external world with a unique perspective, creates a space where emotions, thoughts and beliefs can be expressed & shared,
or even, challenged.
The impulse to create art is universal, present in every known culture. This implies that this desire is fundamental; In sharing our personal stories, it connects us all on a very deep, & emotional level, moving past practical purpose or aesthetics.
I believe that art is a key element of human life, a puzzle piece, if you will, in the search for what it means to be human.
