Found somewhere in Prince Edward County, Ontario, circa 2019.
Went rogue and walked out near the "Dead People's Stuff" antique store, took some photos of this barn, while on one of my most favorite vacations.
I had been holding onto these photos, with intentions of making prints for my own home, and something else called to me. This trip was with 3 other women who have been in my life since my teens, one of them since I was 8yrs old.
I recently received some news about 1 of them, and I knew I had to do what I could to conjure only good, healing and overall, just the best of intentions. So I decided to paint one of the places I've been in the world, where, I can't imagine being there, in that moment, with none other than those 3 women. We celebrated the women we have become with laughter, tears, and so much fun.
I hope for that kind of joy for her, again.
This painting represents that solid place you can land with only a few people in your life, even if only for a short time.
It may be an Ol' Fix'r Upp'r, but aren't we all?
My heart is in this painting, somewhere, through that little window.
